Rain, Rain and More Rain

I drove to King of Prussia, Pennsylvania for a work event. A baby shower for my boss, Annmarie. She’s the one I mentioned previously for handling a mess for me while I was out during the holidays. She mentioned my Blog to co-workers yesterday and commented that I called her cool, but didn’t name her.

Annmarie, you’ve now officially been identified as ToadMama’s cool boss. I still won’t admit where I work. Not ’cause I don’t like my employer, but because of the dooce factor.

Anyway… I drove to KoP through what felt like monsoon rain. Especially around Wilmington, Delaware. Just out of curiosity, cause at heart I’m really a weather geek, I checked yesterday’s rain total data. In Maryland, we got 1.37 inches. The Wilmington area got about 1.67 inches. It doesn’t sound like much, does it?

Now, compare that to the 13+ inches of rain that hit Western Washington state yesterday. Coupled with unseasonably warm temperatures that cause snowpack melt, too.

That’s a LOT of water.

I’m supposed to be working on a proposal today with a guy that lives on the outskirts of Seattle. Hopefully he didn’t get washed away.
