The Kirkpatrick's D.I.Y. Project for 2005
Our First Setback
August 28 - 29, 2005
We took a break on the weekend of August 20 - 21 and actually had
a mini vacation at Bethany Beach, Delaware. It was very nice. And very relaxing.
Our happy moods were soon quashed when we returned to the job site to discover this...
All of the tar paper we had so painstakingly installed had blown off of one side.
Most had blown off the other side, too.
It lay in a heap in the front yard. To make matters worse,
it rained practically all weekend.
Mike did manage to trim the garage openings in preparation for installing the doors.
He also framed the roof over the bow window.
The dogs weren't even happy about the weather!
Actually, they could care less about the weather. They just hate waiting
outside while Mike and I enjoy our nice McDonald's breakfast.
The good news is, I did manage to buy our first yard ornament!
And I got this cool picture of a Phasmid, aka Walking Stick or Stick Bug.
We called it our thermometer bug. He stayed there all day on Saturday.
Mike's bike was the first vehicle in the garage.
We're hoping to get more done over the long Labor Day weekend when our doors and windows arrive.
