Plumbing & Paint

July 20 - 22, 2007

Mike is working on the final gas connections.

Soon we'll have a permanent propane supply.

While he was plumbing, I was painting the kitchen.

Mike prepares the bedroom door for installation.

I'm still painting. I did not paint the walls that will be behind
the cabinets. It seems like a waste of paint to me.

The door is in place.
Yes, I am still painting.

Mike securing the molding or doorjamb.

Mike finishing the gas connection in the kitchen. The paint is
more yellow than orange, despite how it looks in these pictures.

Mike installing the register above the kitchen
table. Or where the table will one day sit, anyway.
The secondary purpose of this shot was to show off
the cool new light fixture he also installed.

Mike is getting a little loupy.

Another register in place. Notice the lights are complete now, too?
I painted the ceiling, but it isn't as obvious because it is white.

Patching the hole in the wall around the gas piping.

Now I am painting the bedroom. Three of the walls are off-white.
As my hubby was kind enough to point out, it looks like I am just
standing there holding a roller against the wall.

Drywall finishing has advanced to the living room.

Actual quote from Mike ... "I hate doing this shit."

Now you can see some color.

The wall behind the bed is a nice, woodland green.

I am actually going to be off for two weekends. July 27 - 29, I will
be staying with Amy and the grandkids as company while TJ is off doing Army
stuff. Then, on August 3, I head south to Virginia for a visit with my family.

I return to slave camp on August 10.
