Spare Bedroom Finishing

October 5 - 7, 2007

Here I am, again, after having been sent to the corner.
I refused to keep the dunce cap on for the picture, though.

We started the day doing countertop work.
But it is still pretty rough, so no pictures.
Here I am doing mud/drywall finishing work.
My doggies like to be close to me.

Mike taping a ceiling seam in the bedroom.

He does good work. And he is way faster than me.
When it comes to mud work, I am still a rookie.

He's working on this area of the garage so he can install the clothes washing machine.

These next two pictures are REALLY amazing...

Mike's halo is plainly visible in this picture.

This one, too. I think I'll send these pics to Weekly World News.
I thought I was the only one that could see his halo.

The washing machine is installed.

The neatnik couldn't wait to do laundry.

Here I am. Smearing mud AGAIN. There's lots of this work in my future.

Mike using the fiberglass mesh tape for the big seams.
The garage walls are more than 8 feet tall, standard wall size,
which is why we have these odd inserts and double seams.

Yes, he hid his face behind the mud pan on purpose.

All that sitting around, smearing mud must have made me sleepy.
Or Mike gave me a headache. Which do you think is more likely?

Except for a couple of ceiling seams, most of the mud work in the
garage is done. It is, after all, just a garage. So it only gets one coat
for now. Unless we decide to paint or something.

I spent some time cleaning the garage, too.
It may not look like it, but trust me when I say
it was really a mess.

Next week we get our propane connected.
And maybe our landline phone, too. Although actually
getting the phone connected is not likely because
they still need to hang phone wires on the poles.
