I took the weekend off. I needed a break from WV labor.
Mike went to WV anyway and proceeded without me.
I think he needed a break from MD wife and dogs!

He painted the grandkids' bedroom.

This is actually leftover paint from our master bedroom in MD.

He's a pretty good painter. Even without me there to supervise.

Next, he cleaned and waxed the floor in the kids' bedroom.

The floors look WAY better after being cleaned and waxed.

Next, he installed the door in the grandkids' bedroom.
That is VERY important. We need to have a place to lock
them up after they've driven us crazy (kidding!).

Installation of the base molding was next.

A shot of the opposite corner. Mike had to fabricate this
special ledge to cover the gap between the floor and base of
the wall. The gap isn't an accident. The spare bedrooms are
in what will one day be the garage. The floor slopes downward
from the house, which is why the ledge seems to get bigger.

The right wall is where the garage door will be.

Remember, this floor is just acid-stained concrete.
This is what cleaning and waxing does to it.

He did the living room next. Not having the dogs
around was a huge help. They make lots of footprints.

If you look closely, you can see the difference between the
clean floor in the living room and dirty floor in the hall.

What looks like streaks on the wall is actually the
light reflecting off of the newly-waxed floor.

The reflections on the wall are more-noticeable here.

The hall floor is still dirty, but all of the molding and doors are in!
