The Kirkpatrick's D.I.Y. Project 2006 (Year Two)
More Siding and Cabinet Prep
September 29 - October 1, 2006
As promised, Mike is doing more siding prep.
Each corner of the house needed to be finished.
CeCe was freaking out from all the hammering noise,
so I took the dogs for a quick walk to enjoy the scenery.
As you can see, it is starting to look like Fall in WV.
I was fascinated by the colors on the forest floor.
I thought everyone would enjoy a break from the boring
construction photos. This is my favorite.
When we got back from the walk, Mike was still working.
A close-up of another one of those stick bugs or phasmids.
Here I am painting the cabinets. Woo hoo! Finally!
Black is just the base coat. Red goes on top.
The back corner of the house.
Mike priming some more wood.
The end result of the never-ending chair project.
Well, almost. This has been one of those projects where
stuff kept going wrong. I need to reapply the black paint.
Then they will be done for sure.
The porch is all ready for siding.
The hood framing, assembled and installed.
I told you he knew what he was doing. I'm just happy
to have another surface on which to practice another
creative decorating technique. Once it is covered in drywall.
I am not sure what Mike has planned for next week, but
I expect to be putting the finishing touches on my cabinets.
