While I was away at a work-related training
session, Mike got to work without me.

We'd really like to get the bedroom finished first.

Mike hung drywall and applied mud in the bedroom closet.

Note how dirty the floor is. This is what it looks like throughout
the house. The mess can be quite overwhelming at times.

Then he did more finishing work on the bedroom walls.

The fan/motor assembly are on order.

Mike finished the seams (horizontal lines) in the living room.

Then he cleaned the bedroom. See how dirty the floor was?

He really did work hard while I was away to make the place more livable.

After seeing how nice the bedroom looked with a clean floor,
Mike decided to clean all of the floors throughout the house.
You can see how the place is really starting to take shape.

The place looks SO much nicer with clean floors and less mess.

Even the living room is clean and orderly.

It is amazing how much more finished the place looks after being cleaned.

It is very exciting to see how close we are to finishing this place.

Mike also finished framing-out the bedroom walls.

The next step here is to run the electrical wiring. Once
that is done, we'll be able to hang more drywall.

Mike used the router to round-off the edges of the porch columns.

He also straightened the garage door.

It looks much, much better, don't you agree?

He even cleaned off the back porch! Can you picture yourself relaxing there,
enjoying the quiet and solitude? Perhaps even one of my killer margaritas?

Meg was sleeping in a sitting position with her head on the back of the car seat.

Mike thought she was sleeping, anyway!

I get back from London on Thursday. Bright and early Saturday morning, May 26,
we'll be heading west for vacation. We'll see parts of Nevada, Utah, Idaho, and
Washington. Its an ambitious itinerary, but we want to see as much as we can.

We are really looking forward to a break from this house construction stuff!
