The Kirkpatrick's D.I.Y. Project 2006 (Year Two)
Interior Walls & Plumbing, Part VI
May 19 - 21, 2006
Here we are, ready for yet another weekend of work.
An interior look at the duct work for the bathroom exhaust fan.
The vent on the left is the bathroom exhaust.
Mike installing the ceiling vapor barrier.
And the first piece of drywall on the ceiling.
Mike cuts a piece of drywall for the bathroom wall.
I fastened the drywall into place.
It actually looks like a room from the outside.
It sort of looks like a room on the inside, too!
Mike putting some insulation between the shower and the exterior wall before closing it in with drywall.
Here he fastens the next-to-last piece of drywall into place.
A view of the bathroom from the living room.
Here's what it looks like from the hall. Although the
shower works, the toilet and sink are still not hooked up.
We decided it would make more sense to finish the drywall
and paint before installing the toilet and sink permanently.
I am taking the holiday weekend off, but Mike will be back to
do more drywall finishing. I am not taking off because of the holiday,
but because Eric is coming home for the weekend.
For those who don't know, Eric has been away at the Freestate
ChalleNGe Academy since January 15. The Freestate ChalleNGe Academy
is a military-type school program run by the National Guard. He graduates
on June 17. This picture was taken back in March at our first visit.
