LOVE in Virginia

The Virginia Tourism Corporation has a fun little project to show everyone that there really is a lot of love in Virginia. “Virginia is for Lovers” is a slogan that’s been associated with the state for as long as I can remember.

There are LOVEworks cropping up all over the state. Early in 2015, I decided it would be fun to see how many I could visit.

Here’s the official web site for the LOVEworks.

LOVE at Lake Anna.

Not all of the LOVEworks are listed there, apparently. I’d thought there were about 42, but I read recently that there are actually hundreds. I think just the big ones are listed on the site. And that list keeps growing.

Yep, you read right. I am chasing a moving target. But I am still on the chase.

All of the LOVE in One Spot

I decided it would be easier to create a LOG PAGE to help keep track of sites visited AND make it easier for anyone who might want to easily see all of the LOVEworks I have captured. Like, in one spot.

As of this update — July 13, 2018 — I have visited 77 LOVEworks! Not all of them are listed on the LOVEworks Around Virginia page. There are currently 45 on the list I have not yet visited. One of which was added DAYS after I was in that very spot (Big Walker Lookout)!

Even if I don’t capture all of them in images, I’ve been enjoying my search for LOVE, especially when Hubby decides to join me.

Hubby waiting patiently for me.

Sometimes, LOVE isn’t ready when you find it!

  1. Hi there!

Lovely post! I’ve also recently noticed there are many more love signs than listed, how do I go about finding the unlisted location?

    Thanks!

  2. I am currently on a scavenger hunt finding the LOVE signs. I just recently found out about these signs because my town has one and learned they are all over the state of VA so I’m traveling when I can to see them

    1. Thanks for visiting and leaving a comment. They are indeed all over the state. There are hundreds of them, too. The map the VA tourism folks shared helps, but new ones pop up all the time. Happy hunting!
