The Source of the Swine Flu

Apparently, experts at the CDC, NIH and WHO were very happy to get this image, which shows definitively how the Swine Flu made the pig-human jump.

Thanks to Hubby for sending me the e-mail that cleared up that mystery!

What Will They Think of Next?

Hubby got a new junk catalog in the mail the other day. It was from Kotula’s, a company I’d never heard of, so I had to have a look.

There was some stuff that was useful. There was other stuff that was just plain dumb.

My personal favorite is Flair Hair.

There was also a Beverage Buggy, a Giant Wine Glass, a Talking Toilet Paper Spindle, and an Off-Road Commode. Those are just some of the unusual items offered for sale.

I guess some of this stuff would make great gag gifts. Maybe. But it’s still weird.

Bird Humor and Welsh Talent

Back in 2001, we lost our cat, Katie, to cancer. We buried her in the backyard, beneath the bird feeder. She loved, Loved, LOVED watching the birds. We marked her grave with a very large, flat stone and a small cement cat.

The cement cat stares up at the feeder, just like Katie would, always vigilant.

It’s been there for eight long years. It’s been knocked over a couple of times, but has otherwise gone unmolested. Until today.

Today I happened to discover that some smart-assed bird pooped on Katie’s kitty. It’s not the fact of the defecation itself that it is disturbing.

After all… shit happens.

It’s where the poo fell.

You have to see this one for yourself to appreciate it.

This image has not been modified. The poo is completely in its natural state.

Weird, eh?

On another note, I’m sorry I don’t get to watch Britain’s Got Talent. Two weeks running now, clips from the show have brought tears to my eyes. First, there was Susan Boyle. Today, Shaheen Jafarghouli. Here’s the link to Susan’s audition, though I can’t imagine there are many who haven’t already seen it on You Tube or at least mentioned on TV.

Nation With a Sense of Humor

I was on a friend’s Blog today admiring her brand-new baby, when I realized I hadn’t poked through her list of “Blogs I Follow” lately. So I looked. The first one to grab my attention was One Big Yodel, subtitled “An American writer living in Switzerland muses about a lack of Cheddar in the land of cheese…”

Even more intrigued, I started reading the posts. The second was titled, “Switzerland Tourism Fools Me.” It was all about the Swiss scrubbing their mountains clean, with a link to this cool video, which I have embedded below for your viewing pleasure.

How can you not love a country with a sense of humor?

Spreading the Word

I’m not a particularly religious person. I don’t have much use for churches. But I do sometimes find them entertaining.

It isn’t the churches themselves that entertain me, it’s those church signs.

It tickles me when they get creative.

And when they try to be funny.

It tickles me more when I see a sign like this one. The first image that pops into my mind when reading this one is not someone praying.

Now here’s one that might at least get me to peek in a church’s door.

These images are all from a Web site called Church Sign Generator. It is refreshing to know I am not the only person that finds these things entertaining.

I found this Web site after seeing one sign in particular that really made me wonder who writes these things. It said, “Body piercing saved my life.” I had to think about that one for a couple of minutes!

Here are a couple of others for your entertainment…
